Have a Plan, mobile app

The New York State Governors Traffic Safety Committee and the NYS STOP-DWI Foundation are proud to release a brand new Have A Plan mobile app.  This app provides you with timely and convenient resources to

  • locate and call a taxi service
  • program a designated-driver list
  • educate yourself on Blood Alcohol Content levels
  • review information on DWI laws and penalties

You can even report a suspected impaired driver.

The app is available for Apple, Droid, and Windows smart phones.

New York State Impaired Driver Program (IDP)

The New York State Impaired Driver Program (IDP) consists of 16 hours classroom education over a seven-week period.

Classes are held in the First Floor Conference Room of the Marcy Building, 167 Polk Street, Watertown, NY in the evening, beginning at 6:30 PM. Contact the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Council at 315-788-4660 for the beginning date of the next class cycle.

  • Class nights vary from 2 to 2 ½ hours in length.
  • Class fee is $225.00, payable by completion of classes.*
  • Participants enroll through the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Out-of-state license holders seeking to enroll in the New York State program, should contact their state of issuance to ensure reciprocity.

*If you are unable to complete by the last class, please call the program director at 315-788-4660 to make payment arrangements.
